Club membership

Our club is open to everyone. Our annual membership fee includes club sessions, club trips, and the use of club equipment. We charge for pool sessions, club courses, and trip accommodation.

Our 2024 membership fees are:

• Adults: £42
• Under 18 and over 65: £23
• Family (two adults and two children at the same address): £65

Members aged 15 or under need to be supervised on the water by an appropriately qualified adult member, who takes parental responsibility for them.

Members aged 12 or under need to be supervised on the water by their parent or guardian who must be an appropriately qualified adult member. We think the best club with a dedicated youth section in the area is Henley Canoe Club.

New paddlers

We offer the British Canoeing Discover Award to our new members. During this course you’ll develop your paddling skills to help make sure you have a fun and safe time on the water.

Our brilliant club coaches will give you confidence on our home waters. By the end of this course, you’ll be ready to join our club sessions.

The course includes membership for the rest of the year. The course costs are:

• Adults: £100
• Under 18 and over 65: £81
• Family: £65 plus £58 per person

Experienced paddlers

Returning members, people who have been paddling elsewhere, and those with gnarly skills can take a paddling assessment instead of our new paddlers course.

We’ll have a chat about your previous experience and may ask you to join a club session with one of our club coaches or leaders. During the session, we’ll be looking for you to come prepared for the conditions, paddle confidently in your boat of choice, and may ask to see your self-rescue.
