Sea kayaking

The club plans to run a few sea trips each year which are dependent on sea leader availability.

These are typically day trips to the Hampshire and Dorset coasts which are around 2 to 2.5 hours drive away from Marlow.  We travel in car shares and it’s useful if you have a roof rack. Trips will have a specified on the water time taking into account the location’s tide times. It’s essential that you arrive in plenty of time to be ready and this often requires early starts!

Some trips will be for beginners and will usually be preceded by a training session on the Thames, so we can ensure that new sea paddlers are competent handling a sea kayak and know how to be rescued.  The club currently has about 10 sea kayaks.

The sea kayaking season is typically the summer months but experienced paddlers who are well equipped paddle on the sea throughout the year.
