π Bridge works & the clubhouse: a quick update
Thanks for your patience on the ongoing clubhouse plans. We expect our temporary relocation to begin around the middle of April/start of May.
When the time comes, we’ll need everyone to please remove any of their personal items that aren’t boats – paddles/BAs etc. If there’s space in the containers once we’ve moved boats there, you’ll of course be welcome to return any other personal bits of kit.
We’ll be grateful to have all hands on deck to help move boats/other bits of kit etc, so keep your eyes peeled for updates!
βοΈ Summer paddling sessions: starting 8th and 10th April
Make a note in your diaries! Midweek sessions start up again on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8th and 10th April. As ever, arrival 6.30pm to be on the water for 7pm. Typically, one group paddles upstream, while the other shoots the weir. No need to decide until you turn up.
For those confident with the conditions, monsieur Barry will be starting up his marathon evenings from next week, Thursday 13th March.
Whether you’re sea-ing, whitewater-ing, marathon-ing, SUP-ing, or canoe-ing… stick around and join us for a drink after!
βπ So many courses! Something for everyone
Chloe is working behind the scenes on loads of brilliant coaching opportunities for all levels, so keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page for updates. From Duty Officer training, to Back-To-Paddling sessions, and White Water Safety courses to Intro to Canoe… there should be something for everyone!
πΆ Could you be our next Touring Officer?
Mr Ian Butler has done a fantastic job as our Touring Officer, but is now passing over the baton! If you love an inland tour and consider yourself to be organised, we’d love to have you! Drop Alex a message or speak to one of the committee at a club session. You don’t have to be a qualified leader – you just appoint them!
π It’s our 50th birthday next year! Help us celebrate!
2026 will mark our 50th year as a Canoe Club! If you’ve got any ideas about how we might mark this special anniversary, let us know! You can email Tim, Charlie, or speak to any of the committee at a club session.
