Hello there paddlers! A reminder that weekly sessions continue to run to our winter schedule:
🍰 Saturday & Sunday (09.30 arrival, on the water for 10am) – Paddle up to Hurley and back. Remember your own flask and snack, now the tea shop is closed. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for updates on river conditions and potential cancellations.
For those who still want their midweek fix, we’re still running monthly night paddles. Scroll down to ‘Dates for your diary’ for more info.

👷 Bridge update: Come along to the EGM next Thurs 14th
From 19.30 onwards (at May Woollerton Hall, Bourne End Community Centre), we’ll be getting an update on the Marlow Bridge works, and considering the Committee’s proposals for the new clubhouse.
🍂 Autumn colours paddle (this Sunday 10th)
Traditional paddle to see nature in all her colourful glory in the hanging woods at Cliveden. If you can volunteer to bring boats back on your car, please email Ian, outlining how many you can move. Be aware that Marlow bridge will be closed to traffic. Keep your eyes peeled for further updates from Ian.
❄️ Cooler weather, warmer clothing
If you’re new to the Club and don’t have much kit yet, there is no need to spend a fortune – basic beanies, leggings and tops from Decathlon/Tesco will do the job. For layers like cags and neoprene leggings, specialist kayak products are best, but worth asking around first – often best to shop around the online retailers. 🎄 ‘The ‘C’ Word – Christmas Social Save The Date
Our annual Christmas social will be outside the clubhouse, and tagged onto the end of a paddle on Saturday 14th December – more details to come!
📅 AGM awards, motions, and invitation to join the Committee
Save the date for next year’s AGM on 3rd Feb 2025(!).
We welcome interest in all positions on the committee, but are actively looking for people to fill the roles of Secretary, Sea Officer, and Touring Officer so do let us know if you’re interested and/or would like more details – big thanks to Carsten, Andrew, David, and Ian for this year!
This is also a call for award nominations for Volunteer of the Year, Swimmer of the Year, and Most Improved Paddler. Drop your nominations in an email to Tim. (If you feel someone is deserving of an award that doesn’t fit into one of these categories, feel free to put them forwards.)
You can propose motions for consideration at the meeting by email by 4th Jan 2024.
