🚣 Jan-Feb 2024 β„️

Happy new year paddlers! (can we still say that??) Hope you all had a fab Christmas and are looking forward to lots of paddling in 2024.

Please note that sessions continue to run to our winter schedule:

πŸͺ Saturday & Sunday (on the water for 10am) – Keep an eye on the Facebook page for updates. Subject to river levels, we will either paddle up to Hurley and back, or arrange shuttles for a downstream paddle. Remember your own flask. And MCC beanie! (Didn’t get one in your Christmas stocking? Buy one here!)

πŸ† Awards and AGM reminder

This is a call for award nominations for Volunteer of the Year, Swimmer of the Year, and Most Improved Paddler. Drop your nominations in an email to Tim. If you feel someone is deserving of an award that doesn’t fit into one of these categories, feel free to put them forwards.

Save the date! Wednesday 7th February, starting at 19:30 at The Kings Head, Little Marlow

🦸 A big thank you!

Huge thanks to those of you who turned up for the clubhouse cleanup (despite it being called off). These heroes swept the whole interior of the club, even with the damp and the smelliness! You know who you are. We salute you!

⚠️ Staying safe on the water

As we’ve all seen from the photos (and Bryn’s feature in the itv news!), the river levels are pretty crazy at the moment. Please keep an eye on the Facebook page for club session updates, and we ask that you don’t take it personally if a Duty Officer turns you away – we have to prioritise your safety in these conditions.

πŸ›Ά Something you’re keen to do with MCC this year? Talk to us!

Whether you’ve been braving the winter conditions or not, we want you to get as much out of your membership as possible this year. Want to get involved but not sure what’s available?

To improve your skills and look into doing a course, email Chloe.

For whitewater, contact Dave, sea trips, drop Andrew a line, and for inland tours Ian’s your man.

We’ll be sending out a questionnaire to all members soon, asking for your input on making the club as enjoyable as possible for all our members. So keep an eye out πŸ‘€
